Core Master Instructor Certification
Core Independent Practitioners who have performed significant teaching at the introductory and IP level can be recognized as CEUS Core Master Instructors. Once recognized as a Master Instructor (MI), a member can visit other centers and supervise Core IP trainees independently. Such training would be compensated at a rate fixed by the Society and paid directly to the trainer.
Candidates for Master Instructor status must be recommended by a Master Instructor and accepted by the Executive.
A minimum of five (5) of the below criteria must be met to qualify for Master Instructor (MI) status. Only CEUS members who currently hold Core MI status can recommend others as an MI.
1) IP for at least one calendar year
2) Have given the CEUS exams (including the written, visual, and practical components) at least three times
3) Have supervised 40 or more hours of IP training
4) Able to effectively teach a pelvic scanning session*
5) Competent in transvaginal scanning and able to teach same
6) Significant contribution/skill in teaching and/or performing POCUS.
*These sessions would involve training several physicians simultaneously (2-4) with 12-15 models over 2-3 hours in either the abdominal and/or transvaginal pelvis scans. Someone would be deemed to be effective at doing this either by direct observation by another Master Instructor while they "apprentice" a session OR if, in the opinion of the recommending Master Instructor, they would be effective at running one of these sessions.
